Aztec Ruins
A very nice day. We are in Bloomfield, NM, four corners area. Went to the Aztec Ruins which the Indians say is not a ruin. Great experience with Madeleine.
We sat in the great Kiva for awhile. It was amazing and the energy so high. Thinking it was my woo wooness was happy to hear Madeleine also felt it. We talked to a Ranger who said she felt the same way. I mentioned string theory and she said others had said that after touring the kiva. WOW! We walked the area while Calvin kept Charlie in the park. We talked him into visiting the kiva while we toured the little museum.

Afterwards a healthy lunch :-) and a drive down a rough county road trying to find an elusive rock formation. Finally, gave up and came back to the RV for a good salad. Quiet afternoon, then The Voice and off to bed.

Four Corners
Left Gallup mid morning on our way to the Farmington area. Decided since we were that 'close' we might as well go to Four Corners. The corners of states New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Colorado meet here. A 23 mile trip took over 4 hours of bumpy road. Indian vendors were set up in each corner. After a bit of shopping we had some Indian fry bread tacos which we ate in the RV. Love love love having our home on the go.
By the way our very mature teen agers eating a pork chop
and drinking from a straw.

A day of rest, housekeeping and a Bearazona
We had a quiet day. A short drive, a quiet day. Some things just never change, like laundry. But you can make the best of it. Madeleine working her way around the laundry in a basket.
Several white buffalos
A trip to Bearazona. Papa almost got smacked for opening the windows of the PU. Approximately 14 black bears roaming the park.
Several white buffalos
A very determined photographer
Grand Canyon, our destination
Climbed in the truck and Madeleine geared up, ready for snapping photos.
Stopped at the Little Colorado Gorge. There was a trading post set up selling Indian jewelry etc. Made a few purchases and took in the scenery.
Beauty and the Grand Canyon
another detour
Thursday on our way to Flagstaff we intended to have a short day of travel. But.....here it was, right there on the side of the highway. THE Painted Desert and The Petrified Forest. Had to stop and take the drive. Lunch at the visitor center and a beautiful drive.
Still made it to Flagstaff early enough for a relaxing dinner and early to bed. Tomorrow, The Grand Canyon.

so much to see so little time
Left Ruidoso Wednesday morning. Our plans change at the drop of a road sign. Intended to stay in Grants but discovered there is a park a couple miles from Gallup so made that our destination for the night. The RV park had a BBQ dinner so we ate there
before heading out to Red Rock Park. Sunset was at 8:30 so we left about 7:00. Perfect timing. It was beautiful. The rocks were towering above us and changing color as the sun was setting.
After a short hike
we drove around the other side of the rocks (doesn't seem right calling them rocks) and down a dead end road with just more and more beauty.
Getting our kicks on Route 66.
on way to park
on way back from park.
Finally it got too dark and we headed back to the RV for a good nights rest.

Our photographer clicked away at rocks, bugs, Charlie, more rocks, more rocks and more rocks.

First day on the way to the Grand Hole n the ground
Trailer packed, picked up Madeleine at airport. Ready to start our trip to the Grand Canyon. What was the one thing that could delay the trip. TACO VILLA
Stopped in Ruidoso for two nights. Spent most of the morning looking at the petroglyphs. No dogs allowed so I stayed in the truck with Charlie and Calvin and Maddy made the hour long hike.
A very small school house at Three Rivers
a little chapel full of 'stuff'
Decided to go to White Sands instead of a lava bed. We will see plenty of lava on the way to Arizona.
Madeleine chasing a camera shy white lizard
Yep, that is Madeleine. It was 105 degrees at White Sands. Madeleine took around 400 pictures. Click click
Dinner at K Bobs. Papa off to the casino. A good day.
