We got a late start and stopped early. We was ready for an easy afternoon. We are in Rawlins Wy in the southern part of the state. We decided to stop as there is a many million acre desert between here and Rock Springs that has the largest number of wild horses outside the state of Nevada. We are going to get some maps from the BLM tomorrow and go horse hunting.
The wind is vicious here. It makes west Texas winds seem like a nice summer breeze. I can just imagine how hard the winters are here. The lady at the park said it is because they are at the bottom of the Rockies. There were thousands od snow fences along one side of the highway. I think the south side. One of the pictures of a few fences was taken at a little rest stop. Can't imagine the work that went into these. Supposedly they keep the snow from drifting onto the roads. Lots of land, few people. West Texas is heavily populated compared to this area. It's a hard but beautiful land. Anyway, nothing exciting happened today, but a good day.
